MISChttp://matthewjkern.com/film/misc/

When I was thirteen years old I got my first video camera. At first, I only filmed skateboarding. Each year I would get a new camera, and each year I learned more about how to properly operate them. When I was seventeen I enrolled in Visual Imaging Technology at the Traverse Bay Area Career Tech Center. At the Career Tech Center I began working with more professional equipment, and producing promotional videos. One other student and I were the first people to do video in the program. Because of this, we were able to study independently.

I have since gone onto the Savannah College of Art and Design to study Film and Television. I am now in my fourth, and final, year of the program. For my senior thesis I have chosen to focus in Cinematography. This entails being the cinematography on a total of three senior thesis films. So far I have completed The Earth in the Air, and I have decided to sign on to three more projects. I am projected to graduate March 2010.
